The last known picture of Ophelia Mbuni, taken by an agent of the Zamundan Security Service on her parents' former ostrich farm (now under the administration of a certain Von Hayek), shortly before Mrs. Mbuni's mysterious disappearance...

Over the years, a lot of theories cropped up about what happened to General Mbuni's wife, ranging from tinfoil hat level conspiracy nonsense, to speculations that are much more plausible - but which will send chills down your spine nevertheless...

For some dang reason I presumed that she’d divorced the General and was living somewhere else.

Yes, her being still alive is the speculation that Jay once voiced back here in the comments.
However, if she wanted the divorce, I can't imagine the General simply... accepting that.
And if he wanted the divorce, he'd probably have done it the Anne Boleyn way rather than bothering with all the juridical hassle and paperwork...

That's why I stated her ultimate fate to be a mystery, though.
In-universe there ought to be an "Ophelia lives!" crowd who believes that she's just hiding...
